This is not an exhibition about inspiration. IT IS about Permission and Precedent. What "Art Mother", essential or constructed, allows your work to exist? Children -- chose your mothers. Mothers -- claim your children -- lest they forget your "womb."

To exhibit one work each -- in tandem

Mothers and Children may be of any age -- but MOTHER'S WORK MUST chronologically pre-date that of their "child", and provide a clear precedent for the "child's" work.

Mother OR Child (or both) shall be verifiable Members of the Queer Caucus.

Either may submit the proposed pairing. Both works must be available for exhibition (reproductions will be considered in unusual circumstances). Space is limited. Wall mounted work only, SMALL WORKS PREFFERABLE, Extremely large works unlikely, but considered.

Submit the following BY DECEMBER 25, 2006 to: queercaa@pratt.edu

• 2 jpegs (4' x 5" – 300 dpi) of works to be shown in tandem. Files should be clearly identified "Artist's Name -- Child" OR "Artist's Name -- Mother"
• Email should contain Catalogue Entries for both works:
  Artist
  Title of Work, date of work
  Medium
  Dimensions
• 2 ONE PAGE resumes (one for each artist / Word Document)
• Brief Statement (500 words or LESS / Word Document) Explaining the nature of the Aesthetic Permission being taken by "Child" and/or given by "Mother."

THERE IS NO BUDGET FOR THIS EXHIBITION; ALL WORK MUST BE SHIPPED/DELIVERED AND RETRIEVED BY THE EXHIBITING ARTISTS
